		A Shield For a Life
			Welcome to the JHS Shield Program!
			As you know, a bulletproof vest can be the difference between life and death for the police officers who put themselves in harm’s way every single day to protect us and our families. Unfortunately, keeping those officers equipped is a challenge as each year a number of our vests lose their warranties because of age and use. Currently, the Columbia Police Department has 116 vests whose warranties expire this year and we need to replace them now. The JHS Shield Program is a partnership between the City of Columbia and JHS Capital Advisors designed to do just that and meet this pressing need for our men and women in uniform. The challenge is simple: JHS Capital Advisors, LLC will match vest for vest every donation made by Columbia’s citizens and business community. As Mayor of Columbia, I want to personally thank JHS Capital Advisors, LLC for their vision and commitment to this community and I want to invite you to join us in this remarkable new initiative. We hope that you will sponsor one or more bullet proof vests but know that every dollar contributed counts. Every donation makes a difference because every single one of these officers is somebody’s father, somebody’s son, somebody’s mother or daughter. They put their lives on the line every day for us and the least we can do is give them a shield for protection.
